Sherrills Ford, North Carolina is a hidden gem on Lake Norman. It’s what we call the “quiet side of the lake,” and for good reason. Sherrills Ford is less populated, and has an eclectic mix of Lake Norman luxury waterfront neighborhoods ranging from big water views to private hidden coves, and everything in between. There are homes with that cabin/lake house feel peppered all about Sherrills Ford and Lake Norman. It has to be a great area, afterall, Mike and Erin live on the lake in Sherrills Ford!

Life in Sherrills Ford, NC
Rural and distanced from the fast pace on the east side of Lake Norman, Sherrills Ford is a great place to decompress, but “rural” does not mean it lacks amenities! Sherrills Ford has caught the attention of developers, both commercial and residential. There are restaurants, a newer grocery store, a local hardware store, and a butcher in the gas station (with very good quality meat). When we tell our clients, “go to the gas station for meat,” the reaction is priceless! A few chain store businesses are popping up, as well as dental, medical and veterinary clinics.
Things to Do in Sherrills Ford, NC
One of the newest additions to the Sherrills Ford area is Mountain Creek Park. It has so much to offer! Just over 600 acres, you will find biking and hiking trails, pickleball courts, a dog park, picnic tables, and even a couple of covered shelters. There’s a fishing pier and a place to launch kayaks and paddleboards.
Recently, The Landing at Lake Norman, a restaurant and the only motel on Lake Norman, was sold to AquaVenture Boat Club. The motel and restaurant have gone through a MAJOR renovation. The restaurant is on Lake Norman, and has a great family vibe. Now, if I could just talk them into opening up for breakfast… 
Sherrills Ford is not far from Lake Norman State Park, which offers plenty of biking and hiking trails winding throughout its almost 2,000 acres. It’s currently home to one of the only public beaches on Lake Norman, too!
So you see, even though Sherrills Ford is quiet and rural, it’s not far from Charlotte, the airport, mountains, dining, recreation and shopping. It is a great place to call home!
