Homes in Cornelius, NC

The number 1 draw for people looking to buy homes in Cornelius, NC is the close proximity to uptown Charlotte, the international airport, hospitals, shopping and the many cultural events it has to offer. Because Cornelius is close to Charlotte, it is also the most expensive community on Lake Norman. A small 1960’s 3 bedroom rambler will set you back a pretty penny. The small waterfront homes are becoming fewer and fewer in Cornelius as people buy them up, knock them down, and build their dream home.

Cornelius is A Growing Community

As Cornelius expands so does the vision for the city. Say hello to the new kid in town. It goes by Northern Regional Recreation Center ( Northern Recreation Center (mecknc.gov). This fantastic facility opened in 2022. You really need to check this place out. It offers so many things for the young and old alike.

Today, Cornelius is a charming, easy-going town with lots to offer. Walking through the pedestrian-friendly downtown, you will find an array of shopping opportunities from locally owned gift and antique shops to various consignment stores. While you browse, stopping by one of their delectable dessert shops is a real treat!

Speaking of downtown Corneilus in 2023, the beautiful Cain Center for the Arts will open. Here you will be able to catch performances, different exhibits, (please bring Chihuly to the Cain Center), or take in one of the many classes available to children and adults. It appears Cornelius will be the cultural hub of Lake Norman… Cheers!
