Catawba, NC is the town furthest north on Lake Norman. Terrain here will vary greatly. The nice thing about Catawba is your proximity to both Hickory and Charlotte to do shopping. While Sherrills Ford is close to grocery stores, pharmacies, and a host of other businesses, you may venture out to Hickory or Charlotte for more things to do. The distance to Hickory or Charlotte is about the same.
Homes in Statevsille, NC
The exclusive subdivision of Astoria is gated and is a former nursery. Less than 50 homes adorn some amazing views of Lake Norman. Not all have boat slips adjoining their property, as the terrain is very steep in some parts of the community. However, there are plenty of boat slips for the community. It’s not unusual to see golf carts roaming to the neighbors or to the boat slips.
Homes in this scenic area tend to be more affordable than homes located on the east and south sides of Lake Norman. There is a payoff for having the convenience to the proximity of Charlotte, however, if you like being away from crowds, traffic and a slower pace, the north side of Lake Norman and Catawba could be just for you.
